Stone pelting on Yeddyurappa residence in shivamogga
Stones were pelted on former CM Yeddyurappa's alliance residence in Shikaripura town of the district against the backdrop of strong opposition from the Banjara community to the implementation of internal reservation.
Banjara taluk community called for protest against internal reservation today. Against this background, the protestors gathered in Shikaripura set fire to tires and vented their anger.
At this time, some fanatics tried to besiege former CM Yeddyurappa's residence in Shikaripura. The protesters broke the window glass of Yeddyurappa's house.
There was an argument and a scuffle between the protestors and the police, and the protestors pelted the police with shoes and stones. Some police personnel sustained minor injuries in the incident and were treated at a local hospital. Light lathis was used by the police to control the agitators.
Protesters gathered in large numbers in front of the taluk office and are shouting slogans against the state government.
